Family Legacy

This post is part of a series on the topic of Transformation, from our Trekkers who are crossing Honduras as part of the Costa a Costa cycling event!

086.JPGMy name is Pedro Hernandez Ramos. I’m 20 years old and I live in a village near Copan Ruinas. I was born in the barrio of Nueva Esperanza, and later moved to the village of La Pintada. I have eight siblings: five brothers and three sisters. Right now I’m in 12th grade at the public high school of Nuñez Chinchilla, which is about an hour walking distance from my house. God willing, at the end of this year, I will graduate! I love cycling. Especially practicing for Costa a Costa.

My Christian life began when I was 10 years old and my parents started bringing me to church. Before that, my dad was an alcoholic, but one day God changed him, taking away his addiction, and he began preaching the Word of God to all those around him! In my life, God has done miracles. He has healed me from sickness, and I have felt His power. God is a true friend because he shows me every day that He is by my side, and has helped me [almost] reach my dream of graduating.

IMG_8385Through UrbanTrekkers, I’ve felt a change in my life. I’ve begun to reflect more on God’s creation, on the moments where I feel the unity of our group, helping other people practice what Jesus says, to love our neighbor and help the needy. I think that this is one of the most special programs in my life, where I have become a leader. I think that every person who supports this beloved organization will be blessed because really, UrbanPromise Honduras has a grand vision. I’m very happy to be able to be a part of all they do. I’ve met so many people and I feel the love of God in my heart that I get to share with the kids we work with.
