Last year our UrbanTrekkers’ experiential learning programs exposed over 190 youth and volunteers to the diversity of people, places, and natural landscapes right in their own backyard of Copan Ruinas. Our programming follows the philosophy that education is a lifelong journey that, when nurtured, leads to an endless childlike curiosity and a continual quest to know “why.” Each Trekker component is designed to inspire academic success and guide students to a place where they can enter deeper into their walk with God. We partner with local schools and non-profit organizations to serve the community in hands-on ways, while opening the eyes of our youth to the various ways the can be the hands and feet of Christ.
These trips and events occur throughout the year in both large and small groups. If you’re in town with a UPH Service Learning Group, here volunteering, or just here for a visit, contact us! We can either plan something around your (or your group’s) schedule, or plug you in to our Trekker calendar!
